Hanaa’s debut art show traces a single form - Horses - and features a collection of pieces across various mediums. Loose sketches, layered oil panels and printed studies drawn from memory of time spent in the fields, inviting us to reflect on the imprint of Nature in our lives.


HORSES

What if the new sun pauses, each dawn 

Before daring to crest the rim of earth 

And break the spell 

Of mists

That keep the realms which horses watch 

With shining gibbous eyes, emerging

Like moons from dark water

Their light arising 

From obsidian bodies, 

Places I did not know 

Light could liveWhat if their hot breath

Moves from the soft

Caves of velvet nostrils

Onto the offering of 

The new day's open palm 

As the sun asks of them

What, today, are we ready

And not yet ready to see?
